Spring Travels

By: Anthony Gismondi
On the wine road to the Okanagan Valley and London, England

The first of the local 2014 wines are hitting our tasting bench – a sure sign of spring.

I’ve just returned from the Okanagan Wine Leaders Forum in Naramata at the Sandy Beach Lodge – a great meeting of wine minds from here and abroad discussing the Okanagan as an emerging wine region was facilitated by the University of British Columbia Okanagan & Kedge Business School (Bordeaux). Not far from our rooms a moderate winter has the Naramata Bench looking flush with spring, and the vineyards primed for what is shaping up to be another promising vintage. I’ll be back up to Osoyoos shortly with Kasey Wilson to judge at the Osoyoos Oyster Festival. Meanwhile, Treve is off to London this weekend to judge at the International Wine Challenge and Stuart and I have a lot of wine to taste. Remember you can follow our top wine finds on Instagram at GismondiOnWine. Thanks again for visiting Gismondi on Wine where the scores are about the wines, not the reviewers.
