Anthony Gismondi on Wine

A quick week of filming in the Okanagan on behalf of the Vancouver Sun revealed a mostly healthy crop load across the valley all some ten days to three weeks ahead of normal.

With veraison a mere week or two off, smoke could be an issue with an otherwise stellar crop so far. You can look for the latest additions to our BC Winegrower Series to be released over the month of August. I’ll be working the results for ‘The Nationals’ over the next week or two as Wine Align prepares to announce The Canadian Winery of the Year, and new for 2015, an award for the Best Performing Small Winery producing 10,000 cases of wine or less. Stuart is off to Oregon on a pinot noir adventure while Treve and I plough through a large batch of reviews so expect plenty of new notes throughout the summer at GOW. Enjoy the summer while it lasts.
