Tuscany, ItalyThe Antinori folks place the 2006 Tignanello among five other top offerings including 2004, 2003, 2001, 1993, 1986. Love the florality here in a year that is clearly more open and rich, almost showy. The fruit is glossy and smooth with intense dark fruit flavours and perfect oak integration. This will easily age a decade or more but on its way it will still be fun to drink. The blend is 80/15/5/ sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.
