Argiano Brunello di Montalcino 2007

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyThe Argiano flagship is a selection of the estate best plots aged in French oak for one year before it spends another 18 months in large Slovenian botti. The nose is a mix of cedar, liquorice root, black cherry jam and mineral aromas. The attack is multi-layered with fairly supple, dry, fine grained tannins over black cherries, liquorice, vanilla, tobacco flavours flecked with savoury/meaty orange notes. Not near ready to drink. Cellar through 2015 then drink with hearty dishes.Tasted: 14 February 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
