Warre's Otima 10 Year Old Port NV

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalOtima is a blend of 'The Big Five' traditional Douro grapes: touriga nacional, touriga francesa, tinto barroca, tinta roriz and tinto cão. The wine spends an average of ten years in old oak casks, though some of the blend will be upwards of forty. An elixir of golden auburn, Otima is all caramelized sugar, golden raisins, tobacco leaves and fig newtons on the nose with a mellow, nutty butterscotch palate. Seamless and silken, with enough balancing acidity to remain fresh and prevent cloying. A contemporary look at Portuguese tawny, and one to pair with walnuts, dried fruit, cheeses.Tasted: 13 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:
