Renato Ratti Battaglioni d'Asti 2011

Piedmont, ItalyThe d'Asti Battaglione is DOCG and you sense the quality immediately on the nose. This all barbera wine was first launched in 2009. De-stemmed and crushed it goes through malolactic in stainless steel before spending one year in older oak barrels. Ripe, spicy, red fruits, cranberries and black cherries, preview a juicy, peppery, earthy, delicious red wine with little or no tannin and acidity that is in perfect balance. What a delicious bottle of wine. Perfect with grilled chicken or meaty pasta dishes.Tasted: 10 January 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
