Quails' Gate Chardonnay 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWinemaker Nikki Callaway finished off the 2012 chardonnays and she has managed to infuse extra freshness into this label. This is a more pure style now with fresh pear and peach flavours and plenty of toasted oak. The attack is a mix of hazelnuts, pineapple and lemon curd with just a hint of minerality. A lot going on here for $20 with perhaps just a bit too much oak. Still a quite fine and well above the average. Try this with halibut.Tasted: 10 March 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
