Quails' Gate Old Vines Foch 2011

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThough much of the maréchal foch was scrubbed up in favour of popular grapes, there are pockets of older vines dotting the Okanagan. Grapes for this wine are from 33 year old vines in Osoyoos. Potent roasted meats, grilled onions, resin and espresso aromas before a dusky, black fruited, rustic hewn palate. Juicy ripe blackberry, tart blackcurrant and floral raspberry blossom lay soft and plush on the full palate. Spice and blackened onion skins on the finish. Unique, to be sure. Pair with grilled venison or game meat to complement.Tasted: 28 March 2015Tasted by: Prices:
