Stag's Hollow Tempranillo 2012
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA blend of three sites: estate Okanagan Falls, Naramata Bench and Osoyoos. Fifty percent whole bunch and 100 percent fermented in American oak (half of which were new). Camp smoke, branch, cinnamon bark, strawberry, earthy tobacco aromas. With some air, perfumed blackberries emerge. The crunchy palate carries a lot of dark smoked berries, toasted wood and prune. Tannins moderate, but grippy and cedar hewn, finishing with bitter coffee.
