CedarCreek Merlot Cabernet 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWhat's in a name? This Merlot Cabernet is built from merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and malbec, the latter two in enough proportion (8 and 6 percent, respectively) to alter the blend considerably. A quiet nose shows black liquorice and delicate nutmeg spice. The palate is less subtle, letting loose with blackberry, black cherry, black pepper, thorns and spiced oak, with a whiff of flowers on the finish. Tannins are ample and a bit granular, but harnessed, while acidity keeps things juicy. Pour with skirt steak or beef empanadas.Tasted: 12 April 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
