Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2010

Pauillac, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceA compelling, characterful wine, impossible to bypass even though I was tasting through a flawed bottle. Light smoked stone, smoked berry, earth, stem and savoury gravels. Alluring bacon, black cherry, blackcurrant and anise carries fluidly across fine boned, structured tannins. The gravels and minerality present poised and finessed, even though the wine dried out at the finish, sadly. I wish the bottle was sound, and I'm looking forward to retasting, but the quality was unmistakable.
