Opus One 2010

Napa Valley, California, United StatesAt first whiff there is a brambled bent to the nose, with green and red raspberry fruit, light toast and high tones. Red cherry and leather dominate the juicy and mouth filling palate, alongside generous strawberry and raspberry fruit. Ripe, cushy tannins are well integrated and succulent. An interested perfumed carnation character washes over the jammy finish. The wine presents young and somewhat awkward now, but doubtlessly will outgrow its gangliness and emerge a swan over the next 5+ years.
