Painted Rock Red Icon 2012

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOne of the best yet Icon noses with savoury, cassis, black cherry notes mixed with an expressive floral thyme, tobacco undercurrent. The attack is full, the palate smooth with some grainy tannins. Coffee, cassis, boysenberry, sage, floral, black olive, black tea, orange peel and eucalyptus flavours. Very savoury, aromatic style with good complexity. Will require three to seven years to develop and integrate the oak and acidity. This year's blend is 31/28/26/15 malbec/merlot/cabernet franc/petit verdot.Tasted: 01 April 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
