Stoneboat Vineyards Verglas 2011

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaVerglas is from the old French, meaning a thin layer of clear ice over rock. I deem it intensity without overpowering. A blend of old vine oranienstenier and pinot blanc, the grapes for this icewine were 55 percent botrytis affected, adding layers of complexity to an already highly evolved and intense wine. Silken sweet honey, brown butter, mandarin and ripe apricot, roasted almonds, fresh pineapple, balanced by pure lime zest acidity and complemented by a touch of savoury intrigue. Impressive length.Tasted: 03 April 2015Tasted by: Prices:
