J. Christopher Pinot Noir 2011

Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesThe J. Christopher philosophy is to “produce wines in an Old World style that emphasizes focus, length and balance.” His partner Ernst Loosen is the collaborator bringing Old World ideas techniques with some amazing international marketing know how. Their flagship is the Willamette Valley pinot that in 2011 it came off four impressive Willamette AVAs: Dundee Hills, Chehalem Mountains, Yamhill-Carlton and Eola-Amity Hills. All native yeast and 18 months of barrel is all you need to know other than it was one of the coolest years on record and the pick date was mid-November. What you get is a bright, juicy textured pinot with the perfect mix of understated sweet and sour cherry fruit with a dusting of earth. Finesse, length, drinkability and balance all in one package. Good value at $44 going to $55 in late May. Total production: 2,300 cases.Tasted: 07 May 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
