Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA co-ferment with a splash of roussanne may soften this perfumed violet, peppery and red fruited syrah from Black Sage Bench, North Oliver and Osoyoos Lake District. A reductive tar and sweet pipe tobacco dominates the fruity plum and cassis jam note, while 14 months in French oak barrels provides brute force and grainy structure. Hints of perfumed florals and bitter espresso linger on the finish.
