Osoyoos Larose 2010

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada"Le Grand Vin", Osoyoos Larose has had a lot to live up to over the years since it burst onto the BC scene with great fanfare in 2001. A partnership between Constellation Brands and Bordeaux's Groupe Taillan, owner of Chateau Giraud Larose, this wine has increasingly grown into its big shoes over the past decade. Concentrated and compact, this is a hard fisted wine for future consumption. Gravels, broken stone, dried earth and faint black cherry aromas open. Bitter cherry, thorns, iron, bitter black plum dominate the savoury and hard edged palate, with giant, muscular and chewy tannins that swallow up the fruit, leaving a trail of bitter cassis to linger. Not particularly a pleasant wine for drinking at present (I opened this the day before I tasted), so I recommend laying down for 4-6 years before the next unveiling.Tasted: 11 July 2015Tasted by: Prices:
