Quails' Gate Pinot Noir Richard's Block 25th Anniversary 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Anniversary Series is a small group of wine grown on selected family vineyard sites. The pinot is dedicated to Richard Stewart who purchased the original family vineyard in 1956. Richard’s Block is a sleeping giant at this point but with powerful spicy fruit just waiting to explode. The nose is a mix of spice and dark fruits with bits of vanilla and oak. The palate is rich, more New World in style with black cherries, compost and a touch of celery salt. Big warm and spicy th3 2013 vintage was one of the warmest ever on the property and the result is big wines. The fruit comes off two old blocks planted to clones 667, 117 and 115 clones. Lay this down and wait for a decade.Tasted: 23 September 2015Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
