Mission Hill Terroir Collection No.16 Southern Cross Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOne of Mission Hill's Terroir Collection tier, reportedly a selection of the top three percent of estate fruit. In 2013, that means twenty barrels were produced from their Osoyoos East vineyard, partially (35 percent) fermented in French oak for seven months. The result is a fuller, lees-led and structured, spicy white, with biscuit, lightly smoked stone, flint, lemon peel, honeysuckle, guava and medicinal cherries. A riff of apricot skin and pink grapefruit lingers on the lengthy finish. A blend of stony Sancerre and ripe Chile, uniquely BC. Polished and serious wine, this is drinking beautifully now but will continue to hold for short term cellaring.Tasted: 22 August 2016Tasted by: Prices:
