See Ya Later Ranch Ping - Meritage 2013
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI reckon Ping must have been a confusing proprietary name for See Ya Later Ranch's meritage blend (there's a pronunciation guide on the back, in case meritage is confusing also) because they have added the word "meritage" to the front label, naming this the catchy Ping-Meritage now. It's separating the sum from the individual parts, which is how this wine shows in the glass - a number of elements jumbled together that don't quite fit to make a whole. Sweeter vanilla, ripe dark berry fruit, plum compote, mocha, charcoal and grainy, wood tannins fill this full bodied blend (via ample American and French oak treatment).
