Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2011

Verona, Veneto, ItalyBlack cherry, prune, meaty, savoury, floral, tobacco and black licorice aromas with a bit of orange peel and sage. Round, full, suave, juicy palate with ripe tannins and some sweetness. On the palate there is lots of chocolate and black plum jam with peppery, strawberry, savoury, poultry spice and game flavours with a waxy, vanilla and coffee note. Lots of intensity here with structure but definitely on the sweeter side. Will age for 5-10 years. The winery suggest game, roasted and grilled meats, casseroles and well matured cheeses as classic matches or pair it with exotic sweet and sour dishes. It is therefore also perfect with Asian and middle-eastern dishes.Tasted: 08 February 2016Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
