Narrative Fortified Small Batch by Okanagan Crush Pad NV
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe first fortified from OCP, distilled on site, this is a blend of merlot and syrah that was fermented in concrete before being spiked with their own grape spirits and aged two years in neutral oak. Raisins lead off the nose and palate, followed by a reductive note that blows off with ample airtime. Maple, creme caramel and christmas pudding complete the medium bodied, sweet frame. This is boozy, but not syrupy, and the sweetness is matched fairly well by acidity.
