Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThere is something going on at Stonestreet if the 2012 "Estate" Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is nay example. The winery has issued a number of single cuvées that come off sites ranging from 500 and 2,400 foot elevations. The estate is 95/5 mix of cabernet sauvignon with merlot and malbec. Although its spends 17 months in 30 percent new French oak the fruit is fresh and linear with floral, mineral highlights. The palate is intense and chiseled with firm tannins, dark cherry/plum fruit and spicy chocolate notes in the finish. This is just a baby.
