40 Knots L'Orange Schönberger 2015

Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThis orange-hued wine is true to name, the peach hue a result of extended time on the skins. Made naturally without additives, this bone dry wine is highly textured and amply grippy, with white pepper, grapefruit pith and peach blossom before a tight riff of bitter pear skin that squeezes off the finish with a tight negroni-briskness. Unique - kudos to consulting winemaker Matt Dumayne (from Okanagan Crush Pad) for taking high acid, less ripe grapes and giving them texture and body through extended skin maceration, AND streaming into natural wines on Vancouver Island. For the very adventuresome.Tasted: 12 May 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
