Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore 2013

Tuscany, ItalyGuado al Tasso is located 96 kilometers to the southwest of Florence. The 1000-hectare estate boasts 300 hectares of vineyards planted to rocky, lightly calcareous soils over rolling hillsides in the heart of the Bolgheri amphitheater. The flagship blend was first released in 1990. The 2013 grown in a cool season is the most refined version of Guado we have tasted mixing 50 percent cabernet sauvignon with 27 percent merlot and 20 percent cabernet franc 3 percent petit verdot. Look for an aromatic, dried herbs and menthol mixing with black fruits. Plummy silky textured fruit marks the mid-palate with a spicy finish. All the components are here they just need time in the bottle. The best we have tasted. Guado al Tasso takes its name from notoriously shy badgers crossing the fords of the streams which run through the property. Tasted in a vertical presentation in Vancouver.Tasted: 26 May 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
