Lock & Worth Cabernet Franc Rosé 2015

CanadaThis graceful rosé pours the very palest orange peach hue, a hallmark of this wine from the low interventionist duo of Matthew SherLOCK & Ross HawkWORTH, also a team at Nichol Winery, further along the Naramata Bench. Mostly whole cluster pressed, with four hours on the skins, this expresses cabernet franc grapes planted in 2008 on sandy soils. Pear skin, earth and ample salts weave through subtle wild strawberry on a slender, sandy, salty palate. Four months in neutral oak before going into bottle unfined and unfiltered has lent a lovely fine texture throughout, matched by ample lifted acidity. Savoury, salty and streamline, this dry rosé is for adventurous sippers, and best when it warms up in the glass.Tasted: 20 May 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
