Lock and Worth Semillon 2013

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLock & Worth is a Naramata based partnership between Matthew Sherlock & Ross Hackworth – long time colleagues and comrades from Nichol Vineyard. This is from a single vineyard in Kelowna planted in 1993 semillon, was fermented wild and whole cluster pressed before fourteen months on full solids in neutral French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Understated and confidently so, this savoury sem draws hay, earthy lees, flax, flake sea salt and a whiff of wildflower honey to a very long, finely spiced finish. The 2013 vintage is starting to really show some of the alluring waxy bacon fat that semillon builds with age. Indeed, this has a long way to go yet.Tasted: 20 July 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
