Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSpicy black plum, blackcurrant, peppery steak seasoning and fruitcake fill this fuller, plush merlot, one seasoned with a sprinkle of malbec and cabernet sauvignon. Twenty-one months in French oak is apparent in the structure, a firm and warm hug. Tannins and wood are well integrated and a welcome benefit of having the 2013 as current release. Vanilla and heat (nearing 15 percent alcohol) linger on the finish, but nothing that grilled steak won't happily meet.
