Henry of Pelham Chardonnay Speck Family Reserve 2014
Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaCream, vanilla, spice in this rich, full bodied chardonnay from Short Hills Bench, and the oldest site Henry of Pelham farms. Low yielding and whole cluster pressed before fermentation and aging in French barrel (40 percent new). Still in its youth, this shows exuberant oak which currently overrides the appealing creamy pear, apple, sweet lemon, flakey brioche and toasted spices. That said, the concentration and depth of flavours here goes deep, the acidity matches the intensity and the minerality of the site will become evident over the years in your cellar.
