Laughing Stock Vineyards Syrah +07/10 2014

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis musky, perfumed and dense meaty syrah is grown at Perfect Hedge Vineyard at their Osoyoos estate vineyard. You can taste the sunshine and weight and in 2014 as well as the fully ripe berries, baked under the warm southern Okanagan sunshine. After several tears of trials, winemaker David Enns has settled on three percent viognier to scent the amply fragrant, blueberry/blackberry and luscious dark plum flavours in this pure-fruited red. A lift of acidity keeps it form weighing down the palate, while thick, sage-dusted tannins support the heft through the lengthy finish. Partial whole cluster, partial 500L open top French oak puncheons, partial stainless steel, partial puncheon ferment - all prior to spending sixteen months in 45 percent new French oak. Complex and long it has a lot going on, and a bright future ahead.Tasted: 12 August 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
