Nk'Mip Cellars Mer'r'iym Meritage 2013

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMer'r'iym (pronounced mur'-eem') translates to marriage, reflective of the union of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, malbec and cabernet franc in this big, ripe and powerful southern Okanagan red. One of the premium wines of the Nk'Mip portfolio, this is a giant of dark chocolate coated cherries, dark florals, tobacco, dried herbs, baked blackcurrant and toasted wood. Tannins are massive, ragged and chewy, and at this stage still overriding the density of fruit (not an easy task) but eighteen months in French oak can have that effect. The finish is bitter espresso and every ounce its nearly 15 percent alcohol. Best enjoyed now with a decant and herbed roast beef or game meat dinnerTasted: 02 August 2016Tasted by: Prices:
