Noble Ridge Reserve Meritage 2013

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNot quite as enticing as the previous year. There is plenty of savoury, red fruit here but the oak is dominating. The mid-palate is spicy and refreshing but the cocoa and vanilla sits on the red fruit at this point. The finish is medium long with some grippy tannins. I would wait a year or two for this to round out. Best with prime cuts of meat. This is the second year the Reserve Meritage has cabernet franc and malbec in the blend. Both were added equally at 2.8 percent joining 55.5 percent merlot and 38.9 percent cabernet sauvignon. It spends 15 months in a 75/25 mix of French/American barrels of which 40 percent are new and then bottle aged for 14 months.Tasted: 02 August 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
