Marche, ItalyThough the 2015 has poked its head on our market earlier this year, I found the 2014 vintage on store shelves and wanted to see how it was progressing. In one word: delizioso. The bitter almonds have continued to focus and narrow, wrapped with a veil of earthy fine lees and laced with bitter lemon. Pine nuts, scrubby thistle and bitter melon are anchored by a solid, medium body (heavy clay loam hillsides contribute), though a lift of bitter citrus acidity balances it easily.
