Bench 1775 Cabernet Franc cl 214 2013

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIt’s hard not to like this juicy, perfumed, cassis-scented red. There is a terrific freshness/lively acidity on the palate that lifts the plum, blueberry and florals on the nose. Sourced from their east facing Osoyoos vineyard, it’s made with the very expressive Bordeaux clone 214. Subtle smoked branch, thorns and persistent peppercorn spicing add complexity throughout the lengthy palate. Tannins are dusty and lightly sticky, providing a fine base for the sun-ripened fruit. Just settling into its frame, you can cellar this through 2020. Pour now with roasted pork chop.Tasted: 01 September 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
