CedarCreek Gewürztraminer 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRipe, round and lush, CedarCreek works to counter the fatness inherent in gewürztraminer, and emphasized in a warm year like 2015, by maintaining a fine bead of limey acidity. A long fermentation preserves the grape's spicy ginger and fragrant rose petals, while 2/3 spent in stainless steel help maintain the bright pear, ripe peach and perfumed litchi fruit. There is a washing of lees throughout to add some texture and complexity without weight, while the remainder is fermented in French oak for similar effect. Full bodied, spicy and warm in the finish, this would match rich butter chicken or mango-dressed fish.Tasted: 21 September 2016Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:
