Santa Carolina Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva de Familia 2013

Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileInviting, fragrant, open nose of mint, resin and red fruit. The attack is dense but the tannins sweet and round. The flavours are a mix of leafy red currants, figs and plums with a twist of cedar and spice. The fruit is all Maipo Valley (Mariscal) grown over deep, sandy alluvial soils. The maceration goes up to 40 days before it spends 15 months French oak. Stylish to say the least and drinkable now, at least with a steak, but should easily hold for 5-7 years. Impressive. Good value.Tasted: 22 September 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
