Ca' Montebello Sangue Di Giuda 2012

Oltrepò Pavese, Lombardy, ItalyDolce frizzante (small print, back label), packaged in a standard bottle. Oh, Italy. This is a gently sweet mix of 60 percent bonarda, (locally called croatina) with 20 per cent barbera and a 20 percent splash of "rare grapes" and even gentler spritz. Dark raspberry, plum gummies, potent blueberry and Kool Aid take over this juicy wine, one without firm structure but with a fine buzzy riff to pen all in. The juicy palate finishes quick with a drying fist. Easy, simple and certainly unique, this suits high tea (crumpets and jam) or strawberry tarts.Tasted: 13 October 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
