Paul Jaboulet Aîné Côtes du Rhône Parallèle 45 2014

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceThe 45th north parallel runs through the village of Pont de l’Isère about two kilometres from the cellars of Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné. A monument marks the invisible line with the inscription: “the south begins here”. The marker is the inspiration for this blend made at Jaboulet since the beginning of the 1950s. The blend is 60/40 grenache/syrah from 25 year-old vines grown over stony clay limestone soil. Winemaker Caroline Frey is turning the ship around at Jaboulet, bringing elegance and balance to the mix. Expect a fresh, aromatic, spicy, savoury wine with red fruit characters and bits of licorice smoke and garrigue. Perfect for fall stews, grilled meats and rustic pizzas.Tasted: 26 October 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
