Quails' Gate Old Vines Foch 2014

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOh foch - you're so divisive: like or hatred. These hybrid grapes (named after French World War I hero, General Ferdinand Foch) were planted in 1978 in Osoyoos. Think roasted earth, sunbaked cassis, charcoal and chargrilled onions, all riding a rustic-edged cushion of tannins. The end has a snap of cassis and bitter coffee. Well suited to hearty meat stews or venison.Tasted: 11 October 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
