Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaA one of a kind blend of 2012 and 2013 cabernet foch, maréchal foch, tempranillo, malbec and carmenère, all grown on Vancouver Island in four vineyards on southwestern slopes. The grapes go through a multi-day cold soak before fermentation, an extended maceration followed by nine months in barrel. The attack is juicy with cool, somewhat sour red berry flavours and some fairly prominent acidity. A winter beef stew or hamburgers are the match here to take on the acidity.
