Stag's Hollow Grenache 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBeauty. The first commercial grenache in BC, and hopefully paving the way for more. Cracked white and black pepper is threaded throughout a round core of sun-ripened, juicy and perfumed red plum, raspberry and cherry. Cinnamon spicing and savoury edging gives grenache's natural generosity (this is 15 percent declared) a nice definition. Whole berry fermented (with 40 percent of the stems) before time in French oak for a half year or so. The final was blended with 12 percent syrah. Ripe, round, easy drinking and interesting, if a bit warm and sweet-tinged in 2015.Tasted: 21 October 2016Tasted by: Prices:
