British Columbia, CanadaMarionette is a new BC winery located in Salmon Arm and run by a young couple with winemaking experience in France, Spain and the UK. Amanda and Jamie returned to BC and founded Marionette two years ago, focussing on low intervention wines. This juicy merlot was sourced from a single vineyard in Keremeos, spent time in stainless and was bottled unfiltered. Youthful blackcurrant, herbal green raspberry, black plum and a subtle medicinal cherry note are framed by soft tannins on a lean, slightly spritzy palate and end with fine salts and a wash of heat.
