Quails' Gate Pinot Noir Richard's Block 2014

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Anniversary Series is a small series of wines grown on select family vineyard sites. Richard’s Block Pinot Noir is dedicated to Richard Stewart, who purchased the original family vineyard in 1956. The 2014 is a spicy affair with cool, floral earthy aromas. The acidity is prominent, the fruit still waiting to be released. A little reminiscent of Oregon and France this year with a resiny, earthy, sour cherry finish. This needs at least two years to settle into itself. Big enough for duck, venison or big winter mushroom dishes. All of the fruit came off two older blocks of clones: 667, 117 and 115.Tasted: 13 January 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
