Spierhead Pinot Noir GFV Saddle Block 2015

East Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe home estate Gentleman Farmer Vineyard (GFV), in East Kelowna, is shaped like a saddle, hence the Saddle Block label moniker. This is a trio of Dijon pinot clones from the original Spierhead plantings, 115, 777 and 828. In this warm year this wine seems slightly disjointed, at least lacking sweet fruit in favourite of mossy, stemmy, menthol forest floor notes with a bitter, sour cherry finish. Tannins are fine and gentle, as is the acidity. Best with fatty dishes like duck or pork belly or grilled sockeye salmon.Tasted: 13 January 2017Tasted by: Prices:
