Van Westen Vineyards V 2013

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRipe and concentrated, as is the Van Westen way, this is a blend of merlot, cabernet franc, malbec, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot, sourced from four vineyards within two kilometres along the Naramata Bench. Espresso lingers throughout the dense black fruit, with graphite, tobacco, anise, branch and thorns. Ample tannins are well managed and integrated into the fruit, structuring the heft without overpowering, and have just enough grip. A charming raspberry note lingers on the subtly spiced finish.
