Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2012

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyThis is a bigger, stronger wine than in 2011 with an expansive nose and a richness that marks a warm year, but it remains within itself in the Altesino style. It’s the 40th year for this label and the red fruit, mineral undercurrent remains a strong part of the fabric of this wine. The attack is juicy with spicy red fruit flavours and some rich, dense, fine grained tannins in the back end before the acidity fights back in the finish. No rush here, you could easily age this 10 to 15 years before it peaks in the bottle. A solid effort.Tasted: 17 April 2017Tasted by: Prices:
