Cellier des Princes La Blason du Prince Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2014

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceLe Blason du Prince is grown on typical Châteauneuf-du-Pape soil: clay and sand covered in galets. The blend is 90/5/5 grenache/mourvèdre/syrah and its aged ten to twelve months in tank. The style is warm and spicy with plenty of fruit doused in spicy garrigue evoking thyme, rosemary and lavender. The textures are rich and soft, more hedonistic than complex, but still enjoyable. A true 2014 showing less alcohol and concentration but with supple textures and plenty of showy, elegant, pure fruit. A charming look at Châteauneuf-du-Pape you can drink now. A grilled steak, or leg of lamb seems a fitting match.Tasted: 22 May 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
