Noble Ridge Reserve Pinot Noir 2014

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFine progression here from earlier offerings. Earthy and forest-led, this mouth filling pinot noir is kept fresh with a stream of acidity and shored by dusky tannins. Alluring dark plum, black cherry and wild raspberry notes are swept along to a lingering, brown spiced, walnut and tobacco-seasoned finish. It’s all handpicked estate fruit (Okanagan Falls) destemmed and cold soaked for five days before a warm ferment and 14 months in French oak (twenty percent new). The density of the fruit gobbles up the wood, leaving a plush tug on the lingering finish. Impressive and well-handled darker, fuller style of pinot, ready for short term cellaring or drinking now with duck or goose. Potent, with restraint.
