Paolo Scavino Barolo Bricco Ambrogio 2012

Piedmont, ItalyPaolo Scavino was founded in 1921, and the family run estate today is in the hand of the forth and fifth generations, Enrico Scavino and his two daughters Enrica and Elisa who farm and produce low-intervention, finessed wines. Brice Ambrosia is a small, rarely seen cru, new to the family estate (since 2001). Deep, dark haunting wild blackberry throughout, with a moderate layer of tar on the palate, and resinous, tugging tannins right up to the espresso-dusted finish. Powerful and youthful, this is best appreciated after decanting, or with more time to settle into itself.Tasted: 03 May 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
