Paolo Scavino Barolo Movigliero 2012

Piedmont, ItalyFounded in 1921, the family-run Paolo Scavino estate is today is in the hands of forth and fifth generations, Enrico Scavino and his two daughters Enrica and Elisa. Movigliero is their "grand cru" in Verduno, and this limestone-laced vineyard was planted in 1967. Florals, thorns, violets twist throughout the wine's firm-fisted structure, but lifted the length along with effortless acidity. Spiced blood orange, black plum, anise lingers. Grippy as expected for its age, and far too young to taste now, but will happily sit for another ten+ years.Tasted: 03 May 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
